the poetry pharmacywebsite

An online site and identity for author William Sieghart, dispensing verse for spiritual inflections.

Intial sketches for The Poetry Pharmacy project.

brief

William was about to publish his third book in the series, and wanted to create an online identity and home for The Poetry Pharmacy, to help share positive and healing effects of the project.

The launch of the site was accompanied by an Instagram campaign to raise awareness of the healing power of poetry, upcoming readings and events, and grow awareness for the project and the book.

Homepage: The practice is now open. Prescribing powerful poems for spiritual ailments.

approach

Poetry has always had a crucial and foundational relationship with typography. We developed a structured and complementary typographic system that would work for the poetic prescriptions and across the site. This included the use of certain typographic symbols as further visual punctuation.

Visual elements were evolved from the series' previous books, broadening the brand's visual language and identity.

The social campaign and site launched soon after publication of the book, growing its audience and spreading the project's healing message. The author has since been featured in The Daily Telegraph and the Independent.
